Silver in the Land of Padded Walls

In quilting there is plenty of opportunity to engage in the "what ifs." What if I placed the blocks like so? What if posts are utilized in the sashing construction? What if I went with a wider border? The "what ifs" are many.

In the land of "what ifs," there is no right or wrong. Sometimes the results are a matter of construction. Other times function, timing, and the unconventional come forward.

So there it is. That is the segway into the main topic for this morning's blog. Lets explore the "what ifs" of silver. Let's discuss what no one else (that I know of) is exploring.

What if silver becomes the official International Monetary Metal. Meaning, the price per once of silver becomes fixed of sorts. As an example, gold was once set at a fixed price of $35 an ounce at one point in history by one particular country (USA).

What if this time around in history, the grey metal of silver takes a ride as the official world currency, with all the status of being fixed, regulated, and agreed upon by all parties involved. Now, that sure would make things more convenient for manufacturing, for finding the next treatment for cancer, for operating solar generators, treating sea water, and running wind farms.

When the other writers are hitting the news wires for why silver will rise over $100/oz, I am arguing for why silver could be strangled back from hitting $100 an ounce.

This may strike some as corny to suggest that silver could become the victim of a new world global disorder. I plead guilty, corny, and darn write (sic) nuts if that makes your mind a little less crazy.

Since I like numbers, lets continue with the topic of silver in the Padded Walls version of "What ifs." As an example, consider these figures in coming years:
(Feb 2012 - $34)
2013- $36
2014-$39
2015-$55
2016-$45
2017-$45
2018-$45
2019-$55
2020-$55
2021-$60
2022-$65
2023-$70
2024-$75
2025-$75
2026-2027 - 100?

In case you are wondering why such a stacked list, it is because my technical skills stop at the sewing machine. I am not sure how to create a chart in this format either. The point of the list is to provide a visual example of one possible trend in the price of silver.

My stitches might be kind of loose on this one, but the idea is plausible in the land of Padded Walls.

So you must ask about gold. What could happen to the price of gold if the powers that be get their hands on silver for their every moment of monstrous monetary madness? (In a future blog I may let you in on the Padded Walls version regarding the price of gold).

Attention Quilters and Metal Darlings too. Gold would be available on the free market to trade outside the structure/sanctions that would be established for silver. It would trade more-or-less manipulated, sort of like it is now. However, the real power of gold would do what silver has been doing as of late and should truly continue to do outside of Padded Walls. Gold and silver should, and I write should go up and up.

Like knots in the thread passing through the three layers of a quilt, silver prices may be bound to uncertain terms that will certainly cause much concern.

This is the land of Padded Walls. Regretfully, there will be no silver under the padded mattress.

War of the Black Swan

Fiction: UFO Quilt (Unfinished Object)/A work in progress

Whales arrive:
Like whales viewed from a distance, the image of so many occupiers at first caught my curiosity. Absent were the organic movements of the great whale. I intended to pause in an effort to take in the waters beyond. A deep breathe followed tilting my head backward. Adjusting position, I returned to center. I realized I was crossing an energy of powerlessness. I gasped for a moment of silence.

The silence emptied my gut. The realization that our time had come with the government of the Red Seals was within the nasty liquid before me. It was not a relieving kind of vomit.

Not long after clutching my gut, tears began to flow. I was filled with both an open eye and conflict for holding onto such a message for so long. The messengers had arrived. They would stay a while, long enough to hear the masses gasp in fear. The sounds were even painful to some of the Red Seals.

Command Center- But Where and When:
There were too many to count along the coastal waters of Central California and North of her. At the Eastern Coastal waters reports came in at 34 to 38 units. The Gulf of Mexico was spared the presence of the occupiers. It took two days before the people most affected by the strikes could determine that the US Government had indeed deployed a response. Our government had been active and fully deployed within two hours of the first sighting. The military was ready for such a scenario, but they had hoped to be more fully prepared before the Red Seals came calling. The U.S. Military had a code word for the scenario.

Floating Titans and the Three Bears:

Pit Bulls Among Us - California Psychology :
Through a cracked window, a nice breeze met Sad Girl's damp check. The tattoo along the back of her left shoulder was worn, and perhaps once worn proudly. Every where Sad Girl looked there was chaos. There were more dogs on the street than usual. The dogs movement was brisk at times, but they did not appear to be going anyway. The shouts on the street were almost shocking. Former enemies seemed to not even notice the other. Yes, all the neighborhood seemed to be present. Teddy Boy was on his bike, probably a stolen one. He was more interested in saling weed. Yes, there was engaging conversation on the world dying. At one point Teddy Boy exclaimed, "Fricking Russians!, Maybe it's those Japs, Chinese. Plutas!" Before parting the two men reached for a light embrace.

Sad Girl observed that neighbors Mary-Ellen and Mommie (Carole Sanchez) did not seem to notice another as they rushed into their perspective homes in almost unison. Six weeks had pasted since the two ladies about 25 years of age and 50 respectively had a major cat fat fight at the curb. Yes, that is what Sad Girl mused with the rememberance of the two very large women hurdling at another. Yes, it was over a man. That man no longer seemed present. When the police arrived to break up the fight, it was determined that Robert had outstanding warrants. At least at the detention center, Robert would likely be the beneficery of electricity thanks to a power generator for such occasions. Sad Girl remarks to how purposefully the residents on her street started to move. Some moved more orderly than others.

Sad Girl realized that she did not feel the same urgency as the others.

Ginger's Wheat Cross:
The news of what came to be termed the Red Seals was a strong contrast to the normalcy of the Kansas breeze. From the kitchen, the breeze resulted a crack in the purple stained glass above the window condition. Some how the varied texture and thickness of the glass slowed the need to replace. The extra quilting fabric that was washed and ready for further handling was beginning to collect dust. Dust bunnies rested under the chair holding the now raggedy once colorful gift bag.

Hyperinflation needs the Good Quilt.

Today's entry is not about the typical bad quilt - good quilt discussion.

I was just listening to Dave Janda's show for January 8, 2012. See the Ed Steer segment for more. Hyperinflation was discussed at the end of the interview. The typical associations with Germany's Wiemar Hyperinflationary events were cited. http://www.davejanda.com/operation_freedom/

Once again, the association stirred thoughts in me that are not common to main stream thinkers. Here is my argument: The general idea is that when a currency is "BAD" hyperinflation will take hold. I assert to have "Bad" there must be a "Good." I am not talking about the memory or historical reference of "Good." I mean "Good" as in another sound form of currency to sort of choose from.

In the world of fiat, with the USA being the Global Reserve Currency, there is not a lot of "Good" out there. At the moment, I cannot think of any big ones - that is established economies with non-fiat currency. Up till recent years, Swiss Franc was considered one of the "goods," but it is losing its status.

So where are we with time? I feel it will take time to create a "Good" or "Good enough" form of currency for global exchange. As of today, January 10, Iran, Russia, and India are working on a new form of paying for oil with Iran. There will be more of this going on.

I have long asserted that the real money currency is the OIL. I still feel that way. When the USA gets on the beam with producing and manufacturing their own oil reserves, it will be then that the USA real currency has any real value. I doubt the current currency the "Federal Reserve Note," will survive the next life cycle.

At this time, I am thinking it will take till 2015-2018 for a new "Good" to shine with the "Bad." Until then, a traditional hyperinflationary event will be held back with the tethers of policy and monetary manipulation.

Was Senator Moran being the Master of Lint Balls and just conveniently missing in action when the rest of the miserable bums in suits were voting against the Rights, and Liberties afforded Americans by the Constitution? 2012: Predictions

I continue to seek a suitable border fabric and design for the first quilt in the predictive series of quilts that are currently underway. I have a second design started someplace. It is buried and lost at the moment. With that in mind, I thought I would share a few (forty) predictions for the coming year(s).

As some background, my mother basically considers Kansas as living on the other side of the moon. Actually, the moon gets more respect. After reviewing the list, I started to contemplate her sentiment. Na.

I am jumping out a bit and putting my ideas in writing. Some of the items I feel rather strongly about, others were simply impressions that were flying by at the time of writing.

From the very wild side of the Kansas moon, the whimsical imaginations/predictions read:

1.Radiation free food/pre-Fukushima foods are featured and become a marketing speciality.
2. Mexico is first Country to organize a pseudo silver organization-may not fully materialize until 2013.
3. Obama is re-elected. In the past, I thought there was a small chance he would decide not to run with Joe Biden. My husband predicts only one term for Obama. Third party candidate cuts the deck.
4. The oil pipeline from Texas to Canada gets the formal OK late 2012, Jan 2013 (after the election). the project eventually goes bankrupt. It gets completed privately - 2015 maybe.

5. British Petroleum is mostly forgiven in the long term. It's a political/financial agreement of balancing debts.
6. British Banks become the next New York stronghold house in the nearer term. (British Courts show strong hand internationally, US Brokerage system remains suspect).
7. Mining stocks will start to feel like Japan (Japanese bonds & equity markets). The charts look like a very long recession.
8. More silver mines become privately owned under state supervision. Environmental watch dogs get chained to their dog house. Less middle men. Direct line from big customer to miners.

9. The European Monetary Union continues to experience one bailout after another. Consider it all life support, or better yet, consider it a more politically correct means of demise. The US Fed bailed the EMU in 2008 secretly, and more publicly recently. I don't see that changing until the last chair of the musical chairs routine is removed - removed with a broken leg and back. So how does it feel to sit on tacks? The butt bleeds. Try sitting on your hands the next time. That is how I view the European Stability at this time. No one really wants to show their hand, except Germany (maybe). Look for the signs of crucifying. That is how they feel.
10. The FDIC pulls out a few tricks. Temporary insurance becomes truly temporary. If extended beyond 2012, it will be in words only.
11. Silver rises to 45 high in 2012. Low in 2012 - $25 (could touch 15$).
12. Gold to silver ratio 1:60 more likely than not.

13. Regardless of how low silver and gold spot prices fall, they will be like a elevator hanging out at the basement level. It will appear the skies the limit after late 2012, but there will be a limit. The 2015 year floor will be especially high more silver in modern times.
14.  American Universities start to scream closed. Its a cry wolf more than anything. Some close, other thrive. In the meanwhile get busy and build your own little bee hive.
15. American work ethic will be revived across the board - look for old slogan in new Government Public Service Announcements. Look in the fliers from your local schools. Old fashion 1940- & 1950's back wash for brain washing. Oddly, more embrace the themes than not.
16. The politicians will not be playing "the Soc Sec check may not be coming" card for awhile again. In 3-5 years the tune will change again with a blaring band. No whispers then. Lots of yelling and crying.

17. Israel is basically screwed in the short-term. US backs off on support. Unlikely for Iran and Israeli War during 2012.
18. Saudi Arabia becomes more concerned about their own security/Royal authority. They should be concerned. Saudi Arabia gets openly invaded after a time, but not before the US Press fully turns against them. Have to get those sweet loving Americans to realize how awful those camel drivers are in the rich oil dessert. Keep in mind, it was just weeks ago, the US was screaming about protecting a few Saudi VIPs from an assassination attempt.
19. The US Stock Market to hit 14,000 before 10,000- .... 9,000 feels more like a bottom/norm over the next few years. In 2012, the stock market will hold its own. A last Chance effort to get Seniors to trust the banking system, and US Treasuries is orchestrated this year. All will seem status Que for a couple years (2-1/2 years maybe). After all, old people will die soon, and really don't need all that that money.
20. I you want something with "made in China" cheap, buy it in the new few years.

21. For many, 2012 will come to be viewed more like the Y2K scare. The calm before the storm is what 2012 brings.
22. If you want to be a multimillion in the future, learn to be a roughneck on the pipeline.
23. Titanium may start to be used as a alternative to steel in the oil line business.
24. The IRS tax code goes global. Law school dropout apply here.

25. Somebody decides that no-body owns the ocean.
26. Another stimulus will be distributed to the people. Not sure if a $500.00 check per household will cut it, but Obama will be talking about it in time for the election. (Might have happened already - looks like my husband just received a increase).
27. The 2013 Presidential Address will have promises of "I will never let my people go hungry;" "homeless," blah, blah, blah," It's ALL GEORGE BUSHES FAULT does not work as well these days. The more recent chant will be "those damn rich people - like Joe the Plumber like rich." You own a business - then screw you. Get in line and collect a paycheck like the rest.
28.Government organized food rationing/food stamps hits on every household eventually. That is part of behind the scenes scenario in Washington.

29. Reorganizing the Military will come to the forefront for the sake of protecting veterans - health insurance, etc. It's a very bad idea. Need those votes. Need that support. Don't want a Coup.
30. Still feels like Spain will be the greatest Pain.
31. A major Earth Quake in South America?? The world does not end, but a push against major world religions get a beating. A push to reveal and then hide history and science continues. Science will get more headlines than ever in 2012.
32. No real solutions will be presented in 2012, just opportunities to scape goat, gloat, and cut the juggler.

33.  Greece happily goes back to crushing grapes. They want to stomp on something, can't hardly afford shoes.
34. The crazy winds that reaped havoc on Pasadena California in 2011 becomes good business for solar in the years to come. Solar power will eventually get too expensive for the common man, but for now it is still politically correct and affordable.
35. Start combing through regulatory changes in recent years and forthcoming, for special handling of gold and silver miners. The idea of checks and balances in Commodity Law and Practices is just an idea that some silly folks seems to think exists. When it comes to gold and silver, you will see more smoke dances to circle the wagons around special interests. Don't worry, your precious metals will not get burned and buried yet.
36. Gun sales continue to rise. More Youth programs start to take form. States like Montana seek to crown their Constitutional Fever with the highest per capital fire arm ownership in the State of the Union. This will be the new club of prestige: Be one of the States with the least gun laws, and the most gun owners. States with anti-Second Amendment laws will be viewed in their rightly place - as Outlaws.

37. New York, California, and Florida will come to be less trend worthy.
38. Reality Shows continue to be hits. Tired of your own families troubles. Just turn on the TV for another slice of fantasy land. Sorry.
39. The "Bowl Plaza" tourist attraction of Lucas, Kansas will finally hold its grand opening first flush.
40. My spelling errors continue in 2012.

The number (40) is kind of special. Perhaps I should aim to  complete 40 quilt tops during 2012.

Miss Kitty Channels Armstrong

Miss Kitty from Maryland is back in town. I presented her wedding gift. She appeared very appreciative of the Lap Dancing Lap Quilt. That particular quilt in the series was titled "The cost of Thinking."

Miss Kitty, the undeclared psychic, and I took in several lovely visits during the week. Among other topics, Miss Kitty spoke of her concern for civil war in the future. We also spoke of gold. Keeping those key subjects in mind, the reader will understand why this Padded Walls blogger kept reviewing a number of passages from a recent publication by Martin Armstrong.
http://www.martinarmstrong.org/files/Financial%20Armageddon%2011-04-2011.pdf

Besure to not miss the quote taken from President's Hoover's ghost. See page 8 for more on the following by Martin Armstrong: " ... So a gold standard will do nothing but collapse the economy and a balanced budget will probably create a civil war and ALL social spending would have to be cut to pay the interest on the debt. The ONLY resolution is MONETIZE the debt and STOP borrowing unless in time of war ONLY, or we DEFAULT and wipe out all pension funds, which would probably spark civil war. So let us stop the peripheral nonsense dancing around the real problem – it’s the DEBT, not what is MONEY or a BALANCED BUDGET! "

Again, don't miss this source. It is a winner in regard to a no-nonsence and rather frightful perspective to the current global economic woes. http://www.martinarmstrong.org/files/Financial%20Armageddon%2011-04-2011.pdf
